The Bursa Young Investor Club (BYIC), in collaboration with the Banking & Finance Department, Faculty of Business, organised an educational visit to Bursa Malaysia and Moomoo Store in Kuala Lumpur, involving 37 students in September 2026.

The visit provided students with firsthand exposure to Malaysia’s capital market and the growing role of digital technology in investment. It also gave them an opportunity to connect concepts learned in the classroom with current industry practices, particularly in financial markets, investment products and digital trading platforms.

At Bursa Malaysia, the students attended sharing sessions covering topics including Sens-Ability, derivatives, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and MyBURSA. The sessions introduced students to different aspects of the capital market, investment opportunities and market participation. They also visited the Bursa Malaysia Knowledge Centre, where they learned more about the development, functions and role of Malaysia’s capital market.

The students then visited Moomoo Store, where they were introduced to digital investment tools and market analysis features. The sessions also provided practical insights into portfolio management, market research and how technology is being used to support investment activities.

The visit complemented students’ academic learning by exposing them to the operations and practices of the financial industry. It also provided an opportunity for students to broaden their understanding of current developments in capital markets and digital investing. The delegation was accompanied by Mdm Hazlaili Hashim, Dr. Tay Lee Ying and Dr. Peong Kwee Kim from the Banking & Finance Department, Faculty of Business.

Through the industry visit, students gained a closer look at how financial markets operate and how digital tools are shaping the investment landscape. The experience also encouraged them to apply their academic knowledge to real-world financial contexts as they prepare for careers in the industry.
