Malam Lentera Merdeka 2026 Lights Up MMU with Culture and Patriotism

MMU’s Cyberjaya campus came alive on 27 August 2026 as Malam Lentera Merdeka 2026 brought the university community together for an evening of music, cultural performances and patriotic celebrations. The event was attended by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd. Su’ud, President of MMU, alongside university management, staff and students.

The evening featured a series of performances and activities, with highlights including a special opening gimmick by the Reserved Military Elite Club (RMEC) and a Traditional Malaysian performance by E-Bee Vocal MMU, bringing Malaysia’s diverse cultural heritage to the stage. Adding to the evening’s excitement were lucky draws and a Best Dressed competition, which saw members of the MMU community joining in the celebration.

A special highlight of the night was the poetry recital by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham, who returned to the stage to deliver a patriotic poem in conjunction with the National Month celebration. The recital concluded with a spirited “Merdeka!” declaration led by the MMU President, joined by the audience.

The celebration continued with a special performance by Malaysian singer Ara Johari, who entertained the crowd with her energetic performance. The night reached its finale with a countdown to the fireworks display, lighting up the sky above the Cyberjaya campus and bringing Malam Lentera Merdeka 2026 to a memorable close.

Through an evening of performances, entertainment and shared moments, Malam Lentera Merdeka 2026 brought the MMU community together to celebrate Malaysia in its own lively and meaningful way.
