MMU Flags Off Its Contingent for SUKIPT 2026

On 27 August 2026, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd. Su’ud, President and Chief Executive Officer of MMU, officially flagged off MMU’s contingent for the 2026 Malaysian Universities Sports Council Games (SUKIPT 2026) during a ceremony held at the Cyberjaya campus.

In his speech, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham encouraged the athletes to give their best and represent MMU with pride, discipline and sportsmanship. He also expressed the University’s continued support for students to excel beyond academics through sports and other co-curricular activities.

MMU’s SUKIPT 2026 contingent will compete in 12 sports, namely archery, athletics, basketball, bowling, chess, karate, pickleball, squash, swimming, table tennis, tennis and volleyball.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the handover of the MMU contingent flag by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham to Mr. Ruveshwaran a/l Balachandran, representing the MMU contingent. The flag handover symbolised the athletes’ commitment to representing the University at SUKIPT 2026.

The ceremony also included a sponsorship presentation in appreciation of the support received from Felet International Sdn. Bhd., Spritzer, Extra Joss, KELME Malaysia and Pita Athletics, which contributed official sports attire, mineral water, energy drinks and sports merchandise for the contingent.

The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Ir. Dr. Wong Hin Yong, Vice President of Academic and Innovative Learning, Prof. Dr. Ts. Lau Siong Hoe, Vice President of Market Exploration, Engagement & Touchpoint, Prof. Ir. Dr. Zulfadzli bin Yusoff, Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development (SEED); Puan Sri Kusumawati Mohd Daud, Director of Student Lifestyle and Experience (StyLE); and other MMU officers.

SUKIPT 2026 will be hosted by Universiti Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, from 28 August to 6 September 2026, bringing together student-athletes from universities and higher education institutions across Malaysia.
