A delegation from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) paid a courtesy visit to MMU’s Cyberjaya campus on 2 July 2026. The delegation was led by Ms. Geraldine Magarey, Group Executive of Policy and International at CA ANZ, accompanied by Ms. Samantha Chan, International Leader, Mr. Divian, Country Head, and Ms. Leong Pui Kuan, Careers Engagement Manager.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Faculty of Management (FOM), led by its Dean, Prof. Dr. Tan Booi Chen, together with Dr. Hasni Mohd Hanafi, Deputy Dean for Academic and Innovative Learning, programme coordinator Ms. Hamsatulazura, accounting lecturers, and student ambassadors.

The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on developments in the accounting profession and discuss potential areas of collaboration in developing future accounting talent.

During the visit, Dr. Hasni gave an overview of MMU and the programmes offered by the FOM, particularly its accounting programmes. The discussion also touched on the changing landscape of the accounting profession and the importance of preparing graduates with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required by the industry.

The delegation was later taken on a tour of the campus, where they visited the faculty’s teaching and learning facilities, the Dewan Tun Canselor, which was hosting the iNVENTX 2026 exhibition, and the university library. The visit gave the delegates a closer look at the university’s learning environment, research activities, and campus facilities.

The courtesy visit is expected to strengthen the university’s engagement with professional bodies and industry partners. Through collaborations such as this, MMU continues to enhance students’ learning experiences while supporting the development of graduates who are well prepared to meet the evolving needs of the accounting profession.
