A University Social Responsibility (USR) initiative titled “Dream Beyond – Campus Discovery Day” was held on 18 April 2026 at the i-Trade Lab, Melaka campus, bringing 18 secondary school students from rural and low-income communities in Jasin and Merlimau closer to the university experience.

Organised by the Faculty of Business (FOB) with support from the St Vincent De Paul Society, the programme aimed to expose students to higher education pathways, scholarship opportunities, and potential career directions, while encouraging them to consider university as part of their future.

The half-day programme introduced participants to various aspects of university life, beginning with a sharing session on academic programmes, career pathways, and available financial assistance. Students also had the opportunity to hear first-hand experiences of university life, helping them better understand the transition into higher education.

One of the key highlights was an interactive Canva workshop, where students learned basic digital design skills before working in teams to create themed posters for a creative challenge. The session saw active participation, with students presenting their ideas confidently and working collaboratively throughout the activity.

Participants were also brought on a campus tour, which included visits to lecture spaces, learning areas, student facilities, and the library, offering them a more realistic glimpse of day-to-day university life.

Overall, the programme left a positive impression on participants, helping to spark interest in higher education and build confidence among students who may not have previously considered university as an accessible pathway.
