Obtaining Industry Exposure Through Accounting Software Industrial Visit

A group of 35 accounting students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) obtained valuable industry exposure through a visit to E Stream MSC Sdn Bhd, the developer of SQL Accounting Software, on 3 April 2025 in Kuala Lumpur.

The industrial visit aimed to provide students with real-world insight into the operations of a technology-driven accounting software company, while enhancing their understanding of industry practices, workplace culture, and digital business processes within the accounting and software solutions sector. The session was accompanied by two lecturers from FOB.

Upon arrival, the group was welcomed by Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Mr Desmond Law Hoe Yen and his team. Students were then taken on a guided tour of the company’s operational areas, where they were introduced to the studio facilities and digital tools used for marketing initiatives and online engagement activities.

The visit also included exposure to the technical support and solutions unit, where students observed how real-time customer issues are handled and resolved efficiently. In addition, a sharing session in the training room provided insights into the company’s end-to-end operations, including marketing, sales, research and development, technical support, and customer service. Students were also briefed on the latest enhancements in SQL Accounting Software, including AI-enabled features and mobile-based transaction recording capabilities.

The visit provided meaningful exposure to industry practices and demonstrated how technological innovation continues to transform the accounting profession, strengthening students’ readiness for future careers in the digital business environment.
