An industrial visit to Drawbridge Technologies (M) Sdn. Bhd., Petaling Jaya, was successfully conducted on 7 April 2026, involving Diploma in Mechanical Engineering students accompanied by two lecturers. The delegation was warmly received by Mr. Jonathan Tan, Sales Director of the company, who extended a cordial welcome and brief introduction to the organisation.

The programme commenced with an engaging industrial talk titled “Industrial Applications of 3D Scanning Technology for Digital Manufacturing,” delivered by Mr. Low Yi En, Technical Specialist. The session provided valuable insights into key concepts such as reverse engineering, optical inline inspection, and digital manufacturing, enabling students to better understand their real-world applications.

This was followed by a hands-on training session conducted by Ms. Amira Hanna, where students had the opportunity to work directly with advanced 3D scanning equipment, including the Peel 3D scanner and HandySCAN 3D portable systems by Creaform. The practical exposure significantly enhanced their understanding and appreciation of 3D scanning technologies.

The visit concluded with a live demonstration of 3D printing, providing further insight into the integration of digital manufacturing processes.
