MMU’s community-engagement initiative, MMU Beamer Singgah Sekolah, launched its 2026 activities with the “Terima Kasih Cikgu” theme, starting with a visit to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Raja Mahadi, Klang on 9 April 2026. Leading the programme was Dr. Afandi Yusoff, Director of the Touchpoint Management Office (TMO) and a proud alumnus of the school, returning to the very grounds where his journey first began to inspire the next generation of students.
Spearheaded by the Corporate Communication Department, MMU Beamer Singgah Sekolah provides an opportunity for university leaders to reconnect with their former schools and share motivational talks, career guidance, and insights into higher education. The initiative aims to inspire students by highlighting real-life experiences, emphasising the importance of perseverance, goal setting, and the pursuit of knowledge.
During the session, Dr. Afandi shared his motivational talk and practical tips on pursuing education after SPM, offering perspectives shaped by his own journey. The session also highlighted the values of leadership, resilience, and lifelong learning, encouraging students to think beyond the classroom and explore their full potential.
MMU extends its appreciation to the Principal, Tuan Safiruddin Saud, and Tuan Haji Zamrus Mohd Rasid, Senior Assistant of Administration, for SMK Raja Mahadi’s support in facilitating the programme.
Through this initiative, the university hopes to strengthen ties with schools nationwide, provide mentorship and guidance, and ignite students’ passion for learning and personal growth. The programme demonstrates MMU’s commitment to giving back to the community while shaping the future of Malaysian youth.
