The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) at MMU is the official student-elected student body representing student interests to the university management, aligned with the Malaysian Higher Education framework that is works closely with the national student representative peak body. It acts as a platform for advocacy, student welfare, and event organisation, operating with representatives for both Melaka and Cyberjaya campuses to enhance student experience and ensure student perspectives contribute meaningfully to university governance, policy development, and strategic planning.

SRC Election Process
The SRC election at MMU is conducted annually to ensure continuous and democratic student representation with all students participating in the election process. The process is overseen by an appointed Election Committee, which determines the election timeline, consistency structure, and seat allocation. Students from diverse backgrounds, including postgraduate, undergraduate, local and international students are eligible to contest, subject to meeting the defined criteria. Elections follow a transparent process comprising nomination, campaigning, and polling. Voting is conducted through a secure online system to ensure broad student participation, with results automatically tabulated and officially announced. This process ensures that SRC leadership is democratically elected by students, reflecting good governance practices and active student engagement in institutional representation.
