
On 12 March 2026, MMU through its International Collaboration and Engagement (ICE) Unit, in collaboration with Universitas Lembah Dempo (UNILED), Indonesia, successfully organised a joint webinar titled “Multimedia Technology and Creative Industries in the Digital Era: Challenges & Strategies for Sustainable Business.” The session attracted approximately 100 participants, including students and academics from UNILED.
The webinar featured two distinguished speakers. Dr. Lendy Rahmadi, from Universitas Lembah Dempo delivered a presentation titled “From IoT to AIoT: Building Intelligent Multimedia Networks,” where he shared insights on the evolution of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies towards Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) and their roles in developing smarter multimedia systems in the future of digital network.
The second speaker, Mr. Ridhwan Razak, Specialist from Faculty of Creative Multimedia, MMU, presented on “Reality of the Creative Industry: From Passion to Profession.” During his session, he shared his personal journey and inspiration into the creative industry. He recounted how, during his childhood, he often watched television and developed a dream of one day working in the film industry. Through dedication and passion, he eventually turned that dream into a profession. Mr. Ridhwan expressed his hope that his story would inspire students to pursue their ambitions and work hard to achieve their dreams. During the session, Mr. Ridhwan also highlighted the realities of working in the creative industry, including the skills, mindset, and professional pathways required to transform creative passion into a sustainable career.
The webinar provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and academic engagement between MMU and UNILED, while also fostering discussions on emerging trends in multimedia technology and the creative economy. The event reflects the ongoing efforts of ICE Unit to strengthen international collaboration and promote global academic engagement.
