

MMU, through its International Collaboration and Engagement (ICE) unit, recently welcomed delegations from Teesside University and Aberystwyth University as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen international academic collaboration and explore potential partnership opportunities.
The delegation from Teesside University comprised Ms. Natalie Clark, Deputy Director of TNE Partnerships; Ms. June Chai, Director of the Southeast Asia Office; and Ms. Prabha Sundram, Head of Education at the British Council Malaysia. They were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Goh Guan Gan, Director of Strategy and Quality Assurance (SQA), together with the ICE team. The discussion focused on potential collaboration in areas such as Animation, Visual Effects (VFX), TV and Film, Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, Management, and Engineering.
Meanwhile, a delegation from Aberystwyth University, led by Prof. Engobo Emeseh, Professor of Environmental and Energy Law and Head of the Department of Law and Criminology, together with Ms. Samantha Vallin, Regional Manager for International Recruitment and Development, visited the Cyberjaya campus in March 2026. During the visit, they had the opportunity to meet with Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU.
The visit was also attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hasbollah Bin Mat Saad, Dean of the Faculty of Law (FOL), and Dr. Syarifah Nurleyana Wafa Sy. Naguib Wafa, Director of ICE, where discussions centred on opportunities for academic exchange, research collaboration, and joint initiatives.
As part of the campus visit, the delegations toured several key facilities at MMU, including the AI Design Lab, Smart Farm, E-Gallery, and the Motion Capture (Mocap) Studio, which showcase the university’s strengths in artificial intelligence, creative media, and emerging technologies.
In conclusion, the visits provided valuable platforms for dialogue and knowledge exchange, reinforcing the university’s commitment to strengthening global partnerships and advancing international academic collaboration.
