

On 9 March 2026, MMU welcomed a delegation from the Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran (JPS) Negeri Terengganu, led by Lt. Kol. (PA) Ir. Ts. Gs. Osman bin Abdullah, Director of JPS Negeri Terengganu. The visit was also attended by senior officers including Ir. Surdiman Zahuri bin Sulaiman and Kapt. Bersekutu (PA) Ir. Ts. Muhammad Zulhusni bin Che Razali. The delegation was received by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, along with university management and faculty representatives.
The session focused on strengthening collaboration between MMU and JPS Negeri Terengganu, particularly in areas related to water management, flood mitigation, and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in flood forecasting and warning systems. Discussions also explored sharing of technical datasets from JPS to support research and development projects at MMU, which could provide students and researchers with valuable opportunities to work on real-world challenges.
MMU expressed its appreciation to JPS Negeri Terengganu for the visit and the constructive dialogue. The engagement highlighted potential avenues for collaboration, opening the door for joint initiatives, research, and innovation that can benefit both the university and the wider community.
