A group of accounting students from the Faculty of Business (FOB), accompanied by their lecturer, Ms. Fathiah Hashim, participated in a University Social Responsibility (USR) Tree Planting Programme held at the Botanical Garden Melaka on 4 January 2026. The activity was conducted in collaboration with the Landscape Department of Majlis Perbandaran Hang Tuah Jaya (MPHTJ) and was led by Pn. LAr. Nur Amalina Binti Elias, with the support of 11 MPHTJ staff members.
This engagement helped to promote environmental sustainability while strengthening students’ awareness of social responsibility and community engagement. Through hands-on participation, the students developed teamwork, leadership, and civic responsibility while contributing positively to environmental conservation efforts.
The programme reflects the university’s commitment to sustainability and its strong collaboration with local authorities in supporting environmental and community-based initiatives. The faculty hopes that similar activities will continue to nurture well-rounded graduates who are not only academically competent but also socially and environmentally responsible.
Well done!
