More than 4,000 graduates from postgraduate to diploma levels were celebrated over three days during MMU’s 26th Convocation Ceremony, held from 6 until 8 December 2025 at the Cyberjaya campus.
The first day marked several significant moments for the university, beginning with the installation of the new Pro Chancellor, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Richard Malanjum, former Chief Justice of Malaysia. MMU also awarded an Honorary Doctorate to Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din, Chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). This convocation also marked a historic milestone, as MMU awarded its first Emeritus Professor title to Tan Sri Dr. Ghauth Jasmon, the founding President of the university.
Graduates received their scrolls from Tun Dato’ Seri Zaki Tun Azmi, MMU Chancellor, on the first day. The second day was officiated by Academician Tan Sri Dr. Zakri Abdul Hamid, Pro Chancellor, while the third day saw Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Richard Malanjum presenting the scrolls, witnessed by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU.
The ceremony also highlighted the achievements of outstanding students. The Chancellor’s Award was presented to Muhammad Faris Fiqran Muhamad from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM). The President’s Award went to Nur Amira Dayana Samsuri from the Faculty of Management (FOM) and Tasigen A L Visvanathan from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering (FAIE). Each faculty also honoured its best students through the Permata Award.
Along with celebrating outstanding students, the ceremony also introduced a new ceremonial mace named Gada Karsa Budi Suluh Akal. It reflects the university’s philosophy of uniting strength, will, wisdom and intellect as a compass for graduates stepping into the future. The convocation also recognised twenty government officers who completed the Program Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam Pembangunan Kepakaran dan Perunding Kerajaan (PRESTIJ) 2025 received their certificates during the first session of the ceremony.
Among the attendees were Mr. Amar Huzaimi Md Deris, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM, members of the Board of Directors and Board of Governors, representatives from universities and government-linked institutions, MMU senate members, the management committee, and faculty members. A warm appreciation goes to all committee members, staff, students and everyone involved in ensuring this year’s convocation ceremony was organised smoothly and successfully.
Congratulations again to the Class of 2025, and may your journey ahead be filled with purpose, opportunity and continued success.
