MMU Team Clinches Second Place at KRAFT 2025 Challenge

Let us extend our heartiest congratulations to Ms. Fareha Nizam, a Ph.D. student from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering (FAIE), and Mr. Masood Azhar, a Master’s student from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM), for securing second place at the KRAFT 2025 Challenge on 27 November 2025.

Organised by KPJ Healthcare in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Malaysia and held in conjunction with MIH Megatrends 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the competition highlighted innovative digital solutions for national healthcare needs. The MMU team received a cash prize of RM7,000 for their outstanding project, a digital emotional-support application designed to address elderly loneliness. The solution integrates augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) to provide emotional companionship, support mental well-being, and reduce loneliness-related mental health risks among seniors.
