In conjunction with International Older Persons Day, an initiative led by Ts. Dr. Tan Yun Yi, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Cinematic Arts (FCA), welcomed a group of retirees to celebrate retirement as a stage filled with creativity, learning, and meaningful connection at the GMBB Kuala Lumpur on 1 November 2025.

Supported by various public and private institutions, social enterprises, industry partners, students, and volunteers, the event centred around four key areas, namely fitness, health, technology and arts. A range of activities took place throughout the day, offering participants new knowledge, inspiration, and enjoyment.

The FCA team also presented a special programme titled A Peek at Our Older Generation, a student-produced documentary that explores the daily lives and resilience of seniors, including their use of technology during the pandemic. This was followed by a 3-Act Story Writing workshop led by Mr. Ghazi Alqudcy, where participants transformed personal memories into simple three-act stories. These stories were later printed on illustrated postcards, giving seniors the chance to share meaningful messages with friends and loved ones.

Overall, the event fostered a warm and engaging environment that honoured the experiences and creativity of the older generation.
