Marking a new chapter in their academic collaboration, MMU and Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) came together for the CIC 2025 Joint Conference at MMU Melaka from 14 to 16 October 2025. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, MMU President was invited as a keynote speaker during the opening day of the conference.

The joint event featured three international conferences — the International Conference on New Media Studies (CONMEDIA), the International Conference on Smart Cities, Automation & Intelligent Computing Systems (ICON-SONICS), and the International Conference on Communication and New Media Studies (COMNEWS). Held under the shared theme “Empowering a Sustainable Future Through AI and Human-Machine Communication,” this signified the first collaborative organisation of these parallel conferences between MMU and UMN, reflecting their shared vision to advance research, innovation, and global knowledge exchange.

Further strengthening institutional ties, representatives from UMN also met with the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) team to discuss potential collaborations in joint research, student mobility, and academic exchange programmes. The meeting, attended by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, Prof. Dr. Hishamuddin Ismail (Director of Melaka Campus), Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Ng Poh Kiat (FET Dean), and UMN Rector Dr. Andrey Andoko, reaffirmed both universities’ commitment to expanding their academic cooperation and exploring new avenues for meaningful partnership.
