Project SHARIN, an immersive gamified Virtual Reality (VR) eMarketplace led by Mr. Vincent Chan from the Faculty of Business (FOB), was announced as the champion of the Piala YDP MP Sepang 2025 – Open Innovation Competition on 10 September 2025. Mr. Vincent and Ms Suaina Tan Su Ying Bt. Akid Arman Tan from the Faculty of Management (FOM) received the Challenge Trophy, Champion Trophy and a cash prize of RM1,000, presented by Dr. Ani Ahmad, President of MP Sepang.

Organised by the Sepang Municipal Council (MPS), the competition attracted hundreds of entries, with three innovative projects from MMU successfully shortlisted. Apart from the winning Project SHARIN, the other shortlisted projects were Project Green Tato, an eco-friendly takeaway box made from potato starch by Sylvia Cheong Kim Ying, Tay Yi Shian and Ong Li Ying under the mentorship of Mr. Vincent Chan and Dr. Yeow Jian Ai, as well as Project Finnest, a gamified AI financial literacy app developed by Suaina Tan Su Ying Bt. Akid Arman Tan from the Faculty of Management (FOM) together with Nurr Amanii Tan Jia Qi Bt. Akid Arman Tan from Politeknik.

With strong support from the Technology Transfer Office (TTO), MMU not only secured first place with Project SHARIN but also achieved fourth place through Project Finnest, further demonstrating the university’s innovative spirit and multidisciplinary strength.
