FOB Students Explore Finance Industry Opportunities at Pathfinder Summit

The Pathfinder Summit X 2025, a Career Day event organised by CFA Society Malaysia at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, became an eye-opening experience for final-year students from the Faculty of Business (FOB). Accompanied by Mdm Hazlaili Binti Hashim, Head of the Department of Banking and Finance, together with Dr. Peong Kwee Kim and Dr. Suganthi Ramasamy, the students gained first-hand exposure to the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) profession and the wider finance industry.

Carrying the theme “A Decade of Impact, A Future of Opportunities,” the summit offered a full-day programme featuring keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities with CFA charterholders, employers, and alumni. The visit allowed students to explore future career pathways while learning about the global relevance of the CFA qualification.

The experience proved highly beneficial as students learned more about the CFA qualification, its global relevance, and the career opportunities it offers. Many expressed renewed motivation to pursue the CFA pathway and appreciated the chance to connect directly with industry professionals. This initiative reflects the department’s ongoing effort to bridge academic learning with industry expectations, preparing students with the knowledge and confidence to succeed in the competitive world of finance.
