The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) successfully organised the fifth edition of the Konvensyen Mahasiswa Anti Rasuah (KOMAWAR) 2025 on 16 August at Dewan Tun Canselor, Cyberjaya campus. The biennial convention, co-hosted by MMU and Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB), carried the theme “Memperkasa Mahasiswa Membentuk Masa Depan Negara” (“Empowering Students to Shape the Nation’s Future”).

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, delivered the welcoming speech, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in nurturing confident, articulate, and socially responsible youth. He also reiterated MMU’s commitment to supporting platforms that empower students to engage in critical discourse and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

This was followed by an officiating address from Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Azam bin Baki, Chief Commissioner of MACC, who underlined that KOMAWAR not only provides exposure and education on corruption and integrity, but also helps instil strong character and values among students. He stressed that the convention plays a crucial role in shaping graduates who reject corruption while promoting transparency in the country’s administration.

Adding to the pride of the university, Muhammad Faris Fiqran Muhamad from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) emerged as the second-place winner in the Pertandingan Berani Bicara 2025, one of KOMAWAR’s flagship programmes. His prize was presented by Tan Sri Azam and Prof. Mazliham during the closing ceremony. The convention successfully brought together students, educators, and leaders to cultivate a spirit of integrity, accountability, and anti-corruption values among the younger generation.
