FIST & CICC Expand Cross-Border Collaboration with Universities in China and India

On 11 August 2025, the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST), together with the Centre for Intelligent Cloud Computing (CICC), welcomed academic delegates from Zhejiang University of Technology, Shaanxi Polytechnic University, Nanning University, and Rajalakshmi Engineering College, India, for an International Joint Collaborative Engagement at the Melaka campus.

The programme began with a welcoming address by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Siti Fatimah Abdul Razak, Dean of FIST, followed by knowledge-sharing sessions featuring three speakers on emerging technologies. Dr. Hu Yong of Nanning University spoke on The Application of Artificial Intelligence in Education, while Dr. S. Ramesh from Rajalakshmi Engineering College presented on AI-Powered Pest & Disease Early-Warning System with IoT Sensors and Computer Vision. His colleague, Dr. T. Manikandan, delivered a session on Cybersecurity and Sustainable Agriculture.

The delegates from China also had the opportunity to tour the campus, guided by Dr. Tioh Keat Soon, Ms. Ang Ee Mae, and Mr. Pang Wei Ming. The event concluded with a closing address and presentation of souvenirs by Prof. Ts. Dr. Md Shohel Sayeed, Chairperson of CICC, marking a productive day of knowledge exchange and paving the way for future collaborations among the participating institutions.
