The Faculty of Cinematic Arts (FCA) conducted a two-day filmmaking workshop with 30 Form 1 to Form 5 students at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Permaisuri, Kuala Lumpur from 19 until 20 June 2025.
Titled “The Art of Film Language: The Impact of Cinematography on Student Comprehension of Video,” the workshop introduced students to the essentials of storytelling, character building, camera angles, and short video production. On the first day, they explored ideas and shaped characters, while the second day saw them behind the lens, creating one-minute videos using creative cinematography techniques.
The workshop ended with a joyful showcase, where students proudly presented their work and received encouraging feedback. The experience not only sparked their imagination but also built confidence and inspired new dreams in the world of visual storytelling.
