

MMU through its Government Liaison and Industry Engagement (GLIE), hosted a delegation from the Segamat Police Training Centre (PULAPOL Segamat) at the Cyberjaya Campus for a knowledge-sharing session on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and discussions on professional upskilling opportunities on 6 October 2026.
The engagement also explored potential learning pathways for Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers through micro-credentials and Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL), supporting the development of skills relevant to the evolving needs of the workforce.
The session commenced with opening remarks and a briefing on MMU by Prof. Ts. Dr. Lau Siong Hoe, Vice President of Market Exploration, Engagement and Touchpoint (MEET), followed by remarks by ASP Haidil Hazafi bin Mustafa, Head of Information Technology Branch, PULAPOL Segamat.
The knowledge-sharing sessions featured AI expertise from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering (FAIE) and the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), providing an opportunity for both parties to exchange insights and discuss the relevance of AI knowledge and skills in professional settings.
Also present were Ms. Azimah Abdul Aziz, Director of Government Liaison and Industry Engagement; Mr. Kamal Ariffin bin Khamarudin, CEO of Cnergy; Ir. Prof. Dr. Hezerul bin Abdul Karim, Deputy Dean of Student Experience & Alumni; as well as representatives from MMU management and faculties.
The programme concluded with a campus tour covering several of MMU’s facilities, including the AI Lab at FAIE, as well as the E-Gallery, FX Lab and PixlJaya at the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) and Faculty of Cinematic Arts (FCA).
The engagement reflects MMU’s continued efforts to share its academic and technical expertise with government agencies while exploring opportunities to support lifelong learning and professional development through flexible learning pathways.
