MMU Career Connect, in collaboration with the IT Society Club, the Technological Association Malaysia (TAM) and supported by the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT), hosted the TAM x MBOT Tune Series 2026 on 28 August 2026 at the MMU Cinema, Cyberjaya.

Themed “Talent Upskilling & Networking for Employment”, the programme gathered industry professionals and representatives from professional bodies to share their knowledge on emerging technologies, cybersecurity and career development. The programme featured sessions including “TAM & The Ecosystem,” “MBOT & The Pathway,” “AI-Powered Threats & Defences in the Real World,” and “The Future of Cybersecurity in the AI Era.”

The sessions featured Ts. Eng Poh Teik, Immediate Past Chairman of TAM Selangor; Ts. Akhmal Nulhakim Bin Hassan, Assistant Registrar of MBOT; Lucas Voon Yi Chuen, Lead Consultant at LGMS, Cybersecurity; and Ts. Hon Fun Ping, Managing Director of NetAssist (M) Sdn Bhd. The programme also welcomed Ts. Brandon Tan, Vice Chairman of TAM Selangor and Managing Director of Kaizen Corporate Advisory Sdn Bhd, as the special guest.

Another highlight was the “Navigating New Career Challenges: Insights and Experience Sharing” session, featuring Lucas Voon Yi Chuen, Ts. Hon Fun Ping, Ts. Dr. Ir. Wong Chee Fui, TAM Council Member and Assistant Professor at UTAR Sungai Long; Ts. Dr. Yap Kian Lim, Vice Chairman of TAM Selangor and Engineering Quality Manager at PLYTEC; and Ms. Moon Beh Beng Yeak, Assistant Honorary Secretary of TAM Selangor and Senior Business Development Professional in Smart Living & Energy Management System. The session shared practical insights on career challenges, changing industry expectations and the skills needed to stay relevant in the workplace.

The programme provided participants with opportunities to learn from industry professionals, gain a better understanding of current industry trends and explore career pathways. It also strengthened the engagement between MMU, TAM and MBOT in supporting students’ career development and industry exposure.
