Dépêche Buzz: Congratulations to the entire MMU community! We are now ranked at #801-1000 in THE World University Rankings 2027

The latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, announced on 30 September 2026, place Multimedia University (MMU) in the 801-1000 band among 2,297 universities worldwide.

The move from the 1001–1200 band in last year’s rankings reflects MMU’s continued progress under its Research-led, Industry-driven University (RIU) agenda. The THE World University Rankings assess research-intensive universities across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement and international outlook.

The achievement highlights MMU’s growing strength in research, innovation, and industry engagement. Through strong collaborations with industry and academic partners, the University has enhanced its research impact, expanded innovation initiatives, and developed solutions that address real-world challenges. MMU has also strengthened its international collaborations, further enriching its academic ecosystem and global reach in line with the MORE MMU 2026-2030 strategic plan.

This milestone reflects the dedication and contributions from across MMU community and its wider network, bringing together students, staff, alumni, industry partners, and research collaborators. The University also acknowledges the continuous support and commitment of its parent company, Telekom Malaysia (TM), in advancing its excellence in education, research, and innovation. Their collective efforts have been instrumental in elevating MMU’s global standing.
