A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was held to formalise a strategic partnership between Multimedia University (MMU), DAMA Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chapter, and Centre for Applied Science Sdn. Bhd. (CADS AI) on 4 August 2026 at the Cyberjaya campus, marking a significant step towards strengthening collaboration in data literacy, professional certification, and industry engagement.
The ceremony was attended by MMU President, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, who welcomed Datin Dr. Ts. Habsah Nordin, President of DAMA Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chapter; Ms. Sharala Devi Balakrishnan from CADS AI; and delegates from both organisations.
In his speech, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham described the MoU as the beginning of a meaningful and mutually beneficial partnership that reflects the shared commitment of all three organisations to advancing higher education, promoting knowledge exchange, and creating greater opportunities for students, academics, and industry.
The collaboration is expected to create valuable opportunities through the implementation of a campus-wide data literacy programme, MBOT-recognised certification pathways for students and lecturers, industry speaker sessions and practitioner engagements via the global DAMA network, scholarship and funding facilitation for DAMA digital literacy programmes, and other collaborative initiatives that will enhance teaching, learning, research, innovation, and industry engagement.
Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham noted that strategic partnerships such as this play an increasingly important role in preparing graduates who are globally competent and future-ready. He added that the collaboration would provide students with greater industry exposure while enabling academics to exchange expertise, undertake collaborative initiatives, and contribute to the advancement of data literacy and digital transformation.
Expressing his appreciation to DAMA Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chapter and CADS AI for their trust and commitment, he conveyed his confidence that the partnership would grow into a long-term collaboration that delivers meaningful outcomes for all parties while contributing to talent development, innovation, and stronger academia-industry collaboration. Also in attendance were faculty leaders namely Prof. Dr. Ooi Chee Pun, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chua Fang Fang, Ts. Shahfeeq Jibin, Dr. Ong Sue Lyn, Dr. Hasni Mohd Hanafi@ Omar, and Dr. Tenku Putri Norishah Tenku Shariman, Director of the Centre for Lifelong Learning and Educational Content Development (LEAD) as well representatives from DAMA Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chapter and CADS AI.
