Career opportunities came straight to campus as OCBC engaged MMU Melaka students through its Campus Circle programme, offering industry insights, networking opportunities and on-campus interviews in June 2026. Organised in collaboration with the Faculty of Business (FOB) and Alumni Engagement, Career and Entrepreneurship Development (ACED), the initiative connected students with banking professionals while providing a platform to explore internships and future career prospects.

The programme featured an industrial talk by representatives from OCBC Headquarters, where students gained valuable insights into career pathways within the banking industry, internship opportunities, workplace expectations and the skills needed to succeed in today’s financial services sector. The session was delivered by Ms. Tan Ai Sien, Talent Acquisition Advisor; Ms. Madeline S. Melkis, Consumer Branch Manager; and Ms. Venice Goh Wee Lei, Cluster Manager, Personal and Premier Banking. A total of 45 final-year students attended the session, reflecting strong interest in pursuing careers in the banking industry.

Beyond the career-sharing session, students were given the opportunity to participate in an on-campus recruitment drive for the positions of Branch Banking Intern and Personal Financial Consultant. Ten final-year students were shortlisted for interviews, with six successfully securing internship placements at OCBC, demonstrating the programme’s direct impact in connecting students with employment opportunities.

The programme was officiated by Dr. Siti Zakiah Melatu Samsi, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and attended by Dr. Hasmida Jamaluddin, Deputy Dean (Academic and Innovative Learnings); Dr. Lim Kah Boon, Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and Collaboration); Mr. Tan Gek Siang, Deputy Dean (Student Experience and Alumni); and Ms. Hazlaili Hashim, Head of the Department of Banking and Finance. By connecting students directly with industry professionals and recruiters, the programme strengthens graduate employability while preparing students for successful careers in the banking sector.
