Puteri An’nissa Azman and Azalea Hani Mohd Hilmi, our students from the Faculty of Applied Communication (FAC) represented Malaysia and Multimedia University (MMU) at the 2026 APEC Youth Engagement Workshop: Connectivity and Partnerships for Openness, Innovation and Cooperation, held in Taipei, Taiwan, from 1 to 2 July 2026.
The international workshop, organised by the Ministry of Education, Chinese Taipei, brought together youth delegates from APEC member economies to exchange perspectives on regional challenges and explore opportunities to strengthen collaboration in areas related to innovation, human capital development, and sustainable growth.
As Malaysian representatives, Puteri An’nissa and Azalea Hani co-presented a semi-policy paper titled “Capacity-Building Best Practices for Supporting Young Professionals’ Transitions to Future-Ready Employment in APEC Economies.” The paper proposed strategies to support young professionals in navigating an evolving workforce through capacity building, skills development, and regional partnerships.
Their recommendations received endorsement and sponsorship from six APEC member economies, highlighting the relevance and potential impact of their proposed approaches towards strengthening future-ready employment initiatives across the region.
Beyond the presentation, the workshop provided both students with valuable opportunities to engage with international youth delegates, participate in policy discussions, and enhance their leadership, communication, and cross-cultural competencies.
Their achievement reflects MMU’s commitment to developing globally competent graduates who are able to contribute meaningfully to international conversations and address emerging challenges through innovative solutions.
Well done!
