MMU Graduate Receives National Accounting Student Excellence Award 2025

We are proud to share that Ms. Sharmila Ganesh, a Bachelor of Accounting graduate from the Faculty of Management (FOM), was selected as a recipient of the National Accounting Student Excellence Award (NASEA) 2025. Presented by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), the prestigious award recognises outstanding accounting graduates from MIA-recognised universities across Malaysia who have demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, professional potential, and overall achievement.

Ms. Sharmila received the award during the NASEA 2025 presentation ceremony held on 10 June 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). In recognition of her accomplishment, she was awarded a Certificate of Merit and a cash prize sponsored by MIA. The award also provides recipients with opportunities to be considered for sponsorships to pursue professional accounting qualifications offered by recognised accounting bodies. The ceremony brought together representatives from academia, industry, and the accounting profession to honour the nation’s most promising accounting graduates.

The recognition reflects Ms. Sharmila’s dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence throughout her studies at MMU. Her achievement also highlights the strong academic foundation and professional exposure that support students in developing the knowledge, skills, and values required by the accounting profession and the wider industry.
