
Career Connect in collaboration with the Career Express Club (CEC), successfully organised “Career Ready 2026: Understanding Pathways, Market Trends, and AI Skills Needed” at the NMES Lab, Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering (FAIE), Cyberjaya campus in May 2026. The programme featured speakers from Becton Dickinson (BD), who shared valuable insights on career pathways, current industry trends, and the importance of AI-related skills in today’s evolving workforce.
The session commenced with an introduction to BD and its Global Business Services (GBS) by Mr. Ravi Dawar, Director of Global Business Services. Students were given an overview of the company’s operations, work culture, and global presence, while gaining exposure to industry expectations and the changing demands of the professional landscape.
One of the key sessions, titled “Decode Job Demand: Map Your Career & Build an AI-Powered Portfolio,” was delivered by Ms. Aina Rusti, HR Business Partner. The session highlighted current career market trends and guided students on leveraging AI tools to enhance their portfolios and career development. The speakers also emphasised the importance of adaptability, digital literacy, and continuous learning in preparing for future careers.
The programme also featured a career sharing session by Mr. Safirul Saharudin, Continuous Improvement Lead, who shared his professional journey and experiences in career growth and workplace development. His sharing provided students with practical perspectives on navigating professional pathways and building long-term career success.
In addition, Mr. Nick Tai, Manager of Human Capital, facilitated the sessions and shared information on internship and career opportunities available at BD, offering students a clearer understanding of potential industry exposure and employment prospects. To encourage engagement, pop quizzes were conducted after each session, with exclusive BD merchandise presented to selected winners.
Overall, the programme successfully empowered students with industry exposure, practical career insights, and future-ready competencies needed to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven and competitive employment landscape.
