Research Talk Enhances Publication Skills in Robotics and Automation

A research talk entitled “Research and Publication Strategies in Robotics, Automation, and Sciences” delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gan Kok Beng from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in April 2025. Held in conjunction with his visit as External Examiner for the Bachelor of Electronics Engineering (Robotics & Automation) with Honours programme, the session brought together more than 30 students and staff members, with a focus on strengthening research direction and improving academic publication outcomes.

In his sharing, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gan provided practical guidance on structuring research work, selecting suitable publication strategies, and targeting high-impact journals. He also highlighted current developments in robotics, automation, and related scientific fields, offering participants clearer direction on how to align their research with industry and academic expectations. The session was particularly beneficial for postgraduate students and early-career researchers in refining their publication approach and research planning.

In addition to the research talk, he also conducted an official external examination visit on 9 and 10 April 2026 as part of the programme’s academic quality assurance process. Overall, the session contributed to strengthening research capability within the faculty, while supporting efforts to improve publication quality and foster a stronger research culture in robotics and automation.
