One of our prominent alumni, H.E Ibrahim Ameer, the Finance Minister of the Republic of Maldives returned to campus for the Permata Dunia Spotlight Series session at Dewan Tun Canselor, Cyberjaya campus on 24 May 2023. Organised by Centre for Alumni (CfA), the session features successful MMU Alumni sharing their journey with the university community.
Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU also extended a warm welcome to the Finance Minister at his office. Graduated from the Faculty of Business (FOB) in 2008, H.E Ibrahim reminisced his memories and experiences while studying at the university. He also shared inspirational words with the audience including staff, students, and alumni. It is hoped that the audience would gain remarkable insights and get inspired by his journey.
H.E Ibrahim also made a visit to the Melaka campus and was welcomed by Dr. Mohd Rizal Abdul Razak, Director of the Melaka campus, and faculty members of FOB on the next day. He also had the opportunity to tour the campus and visited the learning facilities on campus before delivering his public lecture to the audience. Among other attendees were Dr. Siti Zakiah Melatu Samsi, Dean of FOB; Dr. Afandi Yusof, Deputy Dean of FOB; Prof. Dr. Elsadiq Musa Ahmed, Dr. Goh Pek Chen and Mr. Nadzri Kamsin, who is the alumni from the same programme with H.E Ibrahim.
