Dr. Olivia Tan Swee Leng, Director of Technology Transfer Office (TTO), and Dr. Shereen Khan, academic staff from the Faculty of Management (FOM) represented Multimedia University in the Malaysia – United Kingdom Higher Education Collaboration Engagement Programme (MY-UK HECEP) 2022. MMU was the only Government-Linked University (GLU) that participated in this programme that was held from 19th until 23rd September 2022 in London. The MMU representatives were invited by the collaborator university (Brunel University) after presenting their project findings.

Organised by Education Malaysia London (EML) in collaboration with Education Malaysia Global Services Corporate, the programme aimed to increase international commitment and strategic partnership between Malaysia and UK universities in supporting excellence in teaching and learning, research and innovation, as well as students and staff mobility.
The programme was participated by representatives from 11 Malaysian universities and 46 UK universities and agencies. Among activities included forums, seminars, and visits to various educational-related research institutions in the UK and selected universities such as Imperial College, Brunel University & WMG and University of Warwick.

On 23rd September, all Malaysian delegates had a working visit to the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), which is internationally renowned for its successful collaboration between academics and leading industries namely Dyson and Bosch. Dr. Olivia and Dr. Shereen have learned on best practices of this partnership and managed to discuss collaboration with WMG Skills Centres including internships and academic exchange. They also had the opportunity to view the latest project of WMG. It is hoped that this visit opens up more collaborative efforts between MMU and WMG in the future.
