More than 200 people joined the Korean Cultural Festival at the Melaka campus on 16th October 2022. Organised by KSI-MMU Melaka, the participants competed in the KSI Cultural Games namely Squid Game as well as several traditional games such as jegichagi, gonggi, dakji and others. The participants also had the opportunity to do different activities including calligraphy, photobooth, Korean food, and many more. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU graced the occasion by officiating the event. The event was also attended by Dr. Ong Sue Lyn, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Communication (FAC), and MMU officers.
A total of 108 participants signed up for Squid Game and competed in four games namely Red Light, Green Light, Tug of War, Dalgona, and Musical Chair. While, the other participants explored the booths that were available. The event was aimed to raise awareness of KSI-MMU Melaka among the public and promote the presence of the institution. Besides that, the event also helped to expose Korean culture not only to MMU students but also to the community. The event concluded with the announcement of the winners, where Mr. Kevan Brian and Mr. Chia Ser Yong received Samsung Galaxy Buds and boxes of authentic Korean snacks.
