A virtual sharing session on “The James Dyson Award’, which was participated by more than 30 Mechanical Engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) was held on 14 March 2022. Organised by the Industrial Linkage Committee of the faculty, the session was conducted by representatives from Dyson company namely Mr. Khor Jun Bin, who has vast experience in software engineering, and Mr. Vigren Radha, who has extensive knowledge in acoustic and vibration engineering.

During the session, the speakers explained about the James Dyson Award (JDA), how to participate or enter the competition and what makes a good entry. The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages, and inspires the next generation of design engineers. The competition is run by the James Dyson Foundation and it is open to current and recent engineering students. The national winner of the competition will receive a cash prize worth RM27,900. The speakers also encouraged and motivated the students to enter the competition and shared the link entry with the audience. For those who are participating, we wish you all the best!
