On 12th December 2020, the Multimedia University Law Society (MULS) had successfully organised the 14th Grand Finals of the Law Moot Competition 2019/2020. This annual event serves as an avenue for students to develop their mooting and advocacy skills, which would be necessary to students pursuing a law degree. This year marks the milestone for MULS to conduct its first-ever virtual Law Moot Competition 2020 following the pandemic. Both the Grand Finals of the English and Bahasa Malaysia Moot Sessions were livestreamed through the MULS Facebook page. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, MMU President was also invited to deliver his special remarks for this event.

As a result, the appellant team consisting of Ms. Ang Jie Yi and Ms. Milcah Yeo Chze Xin emerged as the Champion for the English Moot; while Ms. Faizin Nasrin Md Rejab and Ms. Nabilah Farhanah Moktar Daidi of the respondent’s team had emerged as the Champion for the Bahasa Malaysia Moot. The Best Oralists were awarded to Mr. Jeyaganesh a/l S Ravi for English Moot Session and Ms. Faizin Nasrin Md Rejab for Bahasa Malaysia Moot Session. In addition, prominent lawyers were invited to preside over the Grand Finals. For the English Session, the judges presiding were Mr. Jaspal Singh Gill, Mr. Wong Fook Meng and Mr. Richard Wee, while for the Bahasa Malaysia Session, the judges presiding were Mr. Azrul Zulkifli Stork, Mr. Kee Tong Kiak and Mr. Bernard Scott.
