Obtaining Knowledge on MyRA and Research Productivity

More than 40 academics from Multimedia University (MMU) participated in a virtual talk, “MyRA & Research Productivity” by Prof. Dr. Mohd Shahir Shamsir Omar, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). The event was organised by the Faculty of Management (FOM) and Research, Industrial Collaboration, and Engagement (RICE) office on 2nd April 2021.

MyRA is a comprehensive system to assess the research performance of Malaysian higher institutions. It is also related to the academics’ career path and MMU development as a whole. The talk was immensely valuable to prepare MMU to be rated as six stars in MyRA rank in terms of the score distribution and data sources from individual, communal, and institutional.

Individual contributions to MyRA points include Scopus articles, conference papers, grants, and income from courses, training, and consultancies.   While communal contribution includes book publishing, licensing, endowment, postgraduate fees, and lab services. All in all, MyRA is an entire research ecosystem, which involves every party to make it work. Dr. Mohd Fairuz Abd Rahim, Dean of FOM also attended the event and delivered his closing remarks to the speaker as well as to the participants.
