Diploma in Management

This programme is designed to produce quality graduates who are confident, business savvy, technologically enabled, and equipped with the necessary soft skills and good ethical values needed to excel in the fast-paced digital economy and beyond. In line with global trends towards a freelance economy and movements supporting innovation and business start-ups, this programme offers a special focus on developing students’ skills and mindset for entrepreneurship.

After completion of this diploma programme, students who choose to further their studies can opt to continue into a Bachelor’s degree programme at either the Faculty of Management (MMU Cyberjaya campus) or Faculty of Business (MMU Melaka campus). Credit transfer from Diploma to Degree is awarded to eligible programmes.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Pass SPM/O-Level or its equivalent with a minimum of Credit in at least three (3) subjects, and at least a Pass in English; OR
  • Pass STPM or its equivalent with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any subject AND a Pass in English at SPM Level or its equivalent; OR
  • Pass STAM with a minimum Grade of Maqbul (Pass) AND a Pass in English at SPM Level or its equivalent; OR
  • Pass UEC with a minimum of Grade B in at least three (3) subjects and at least a Pass in English; OR
  • Pass SKM (Level 3, MQF) in a related field; OR
  • A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in the related field with at least CGPA of 2.00
  • Possess an APEL.A certificate from MQA for admission into Diploma programmes.

English Language Requirement for International Students

International students who wish to enrol into the Diploma in Management programme are required to possess a minimum score of 5.0 in IELTS or its equivalent.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES

This programme aims to produce graduates with the following quality after several years of graduation:

  1. Graduates in management who possess broad-based theoretical and practical knowledge in business management and related professions.
  2. Graduates in management who possess broad-based operational and entrepreneurial skills to perform effectively, responsibly and ethically in different organisations.
  3. Graduates in management who utilise a broad range of digital applications and numeracy skills to support business functions effectively.
  4. Graduates in management who demonstrate teamwork, leadership, interpersonal communication, creativity, and innovation skills in career setting.
  5. Graduates in management who are committed to pursue lifelong learning in education and career.

Upon graduation, the graduates are expected to achieve or attain the following outcomes:

  1. Describe broad-based principles and theories in management.
  2. Apply broad-based management knowledge to solve routine and non-routine problems in different organisations.
  3. Perform routine and non-routine management tasks flexibly within organisations.
  4. Demonstrate effective collaborative skills in a management context.

  6. Demonstrate relevant digital skills in management for work/study.
  7. Interpret numerical and graphical data with relevant tools in a management context.

Upon completion of this diploma programme, students can enrol into any Bachelor Degree programme at MMU provided that he or she fulfils the Bachelor’s Degree entry requirement. Credit transfer from Diploma to Degree is awarded to eligible programmes.

A DiM graduate may proceed to the 2nd year of Bachelor of Business Management (Hons) if he or she fulfils the credit transfer requirement.
