On 4 September 2021, 2.30pm, Faculty of Engineering (FOE), Centre for Alumni (CFA), Engineering Society (EngSoc), Student Representative Council (SRC) and MMU Studio successfully organised FOE Alumni Virtual Reunion. With the theme “Reunite, Socialise and Synergise”, FOE Alumni managed to ‘Reunite’ with old friends, meet and ‘Socialise’ with ex-classmates and old friends virtually. New connections were established to ‘Synergise’ in achieving MMU Plus U vision.

The FOE alumni were welcomed by ASSOC. PROF. DR. OOI CHEE PUN, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. The event was officiated by YBHG. PROF. DATO’ DR. MAZLIHAM MOHD SOOD, CEO/President of Multimedia University. Two successful FOE alumni were invited to share their experiences, Dr. Koay Jun Yi, Support Astronomer from Academia Sinica, Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics (ASIAA) and Mr. Khairul Naim Zainal Abidin, Deputy Managing Director / Chief Security & Strategy Officer, Nexagate Sdn Bhd. The event was lively moderated by two of FOE students, Muhammad Shahril Nizam Bin Abdullah and Lim Min Ying who are parts of SRC teams.

Around 70 participants attended the event, including the FOE alumni and lecturers. Few alumni shared their work and study experiences at the beginning of the event and during the interactive session with the alumni moderated by Prof. Dr. Mohamad Yusoff Bin Alias. The alumni expressed their interest in meet up physically and collaborate together for betterment of faculty and the engineering industries. The alumni hope more of interactive session can be organized with faculty in the future.
