FIST Hosts Successful Python Security App Showcase 2026

The Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) successfully hosted the Python Security App Showcase on 22 June 2026, at the Smart Lab. The event served as an interactive platform for Security Technology students to exhibit their digital posters and conduct live demonstrations of their custom-developed cybersecurity applications.

The showcase highlighted practical innovation in the software security domain, featuring a diverse range of student projects. Featured student projects focused on critical areas of cybersecurity, including a Phishing URL Detection System, a Python-Based Intrusion Detection System, a Python-Based Fraud Detection System for Financial Transaction,  a Python-Based Log File Analyzer designed to detect suspicious login attempts, and etc.

The lively session drew strong engagement from the campus community, attracting more than 70 participants, including both students and university lecturers. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the digital posters, interact directly with the student developers, and view real-time system demonstrations of the defensive tools in action.

Congratulations to all the participating Security Technology students for demonstrating exceptional technical competence and engineering resourcefulness in this showcase event!
