Karnival STEM (CODEX & KOKU) Peringkat Negeri Melaka
A team of esteemed lecturers from the Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST), Multimedia University (MMU), were recently invited to serve as technical officers and judges at the Karnival STEM (CODEX & KOKU) Peringkat Negeri Melaka, hosted by SMJK Yok Bin on 25th June 2025.

The invited panel includes Prof Tan Shing Chiang, Dr Goh Pey Yun, and Ms Prisha from the Bachelor of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) programme; Dr Chong Lee Ying from the Bachelor of IT (Security Technology); and Mr Noor Hisham Bin Kamis from the Diploma in IT.

Four of the lecturers played key roles as judges for the AI in MIT App Inventor Challenge, while another served as judge for the GAMI Code competition.

This collaboration marks a significant step in fostering interest in STEM among secondary school students. The carnival showcased promising talents with innovative ideas, many of which were backed by data-driven problem statements and aimed at addressing real-world societal challenges.

It was a truly inspiring display of how young minds are being nurtured through STEM, with MMU proud to support such initiatives that empower the next generation of tech innovators. This collaboration also highlights FIST’s commitment to engaging with the community and supporting national efforts to build a future-ready digital ecosystem.
