Foundation in Engineering

(R3/0710/3/0010) 12/27 (18671)

The one-year Foundation in Engineering programme is the preferred route for many Malaysians and international students to access engineering courses in Multimedia University. Set in a campus environment that enriches their preparation for degree studies, the programme’s curriculum focuses on delivering preparatory engineering subjects to equip students with strong fundamentals in order to excel with confidence. In addition to analytical and technical knowledge, the programme also focuses on equipping students with critical thinking and interpersonal skills to succeed not only in their undergraduate studies, but more importantly, as independent life-long learners.

After completion of the foundation programme you can opt for a degree programme from either Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Engineering (FAIE) or Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET).

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • To produce students who are competent in utilising knowledge of science and engineering for discussion, applying them to solve problems, and performing academic activities to make conclusions.
  • To produce students who can communicate effectively, and are competent in utilising digital technology applications to seek and process data, and for lifelong learning.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

  • To utilise facts to describe and discuss concepts, principles, and processes of science and engineering
  • To apply fundamental principles of science and engineering to identify and solve problems
  • To conduct academic activities such as collect, analyse, organise, and process data/information to make conclusions individually or in groups
  • To communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • To utilise basic digital technology to seek and process data related to science and engineering.
