Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours)

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) is a three-years degree programme aims to prepare students with a strong foundation in information technology, its system and application development as well as current and emerging related technologies. The programme focuses on designing, developing and implementing of effective digital solutions to meet the needs for information and decision support in an organizations.

Students will learn key subjects in information technology field that contribute significantly in planning, designing, implementing and maintaining information technology solutions for critical business problems.  The designed specialised subjects prepare students with skills for future careers in the field of information technology as well as to take leading roles in shaping our information-driven future.  Students will also complete a final year project and undergo industrial training to acquire practical industry experience.

PROGRAMME LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Describe and demonstrate knowledge of sciences and computing fundamentals in the information technology field.
  • Apply a range of essential methods, procedures, and skill sets in solving a broad range of problems in the information technology field.
  • Convey information technology related ideas and solutions through effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate professional and ethical practices in delivering services related to the information technology field.
  • Display the ability to work autonomously and in teams with leadership, accountability, and, responsibility traits related to the information technology field.
  • Identify, formulate, and provide creative, innovative, and effective solutions in the domain of information technology.
  • Pursue continued life-long learning throughout their career, in addition to, blending innovative minds and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Use digital and numeracy skills as well as a broad range of information, media, and technology applications to solve problems in the information technology domains.

  • To produce professionals in information technology who can demonstrate knowledge and skills to develop reliable computing solutions in various ICT application domains in line with the industry requirements.
  • To produce professionals in information technology who can lead with autonomy and responsibility as well as engage in teams through effective communication and interpersonal skills with discipline-related stakeholders.
  • To produce professionals in information technology who can uphold ethical and professional practices in servicing clients and society with self and profession integrity.
  • To produce professionals in information technology who can explore business opportunities and practice continual development through life-long learning.
