On 29 March 2022, the representatives of Pan-European University, Bratislava (PEU) and Multimedia University Malaysia (MMU), together with five MMU students under the Erasmus+ programme visited the Embassy of Malaysia in Vienna. The MMU students have received EU/Erasmus+ grants to study for a semester at PEU. While 4 PEU students are currently studying in MMU, as part of the students exchange programme.

They were given a briefing by Ms. Aadela Melati and Mr. Mohd Yunus Ibrahim, First Secretary, on the work of the Embassy and the bilateral milestones between Malaysia-Austria and Malaysia-Slovakia. They had a meaningful discussion on the academic diplomacy between Malaysia and Slovakia.

After the briefing session, they were invited to Rumah Malaysia to meet with H.E. Mr. Ikram Mohammad Ibrahim to discuss the current academic cooperation and future collaborations between both higher learning institutions over lunch. Mr. Igor Junas, the Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Bratislava was also present in the luncheon.

The cooperation between PEU and MMU has started in 2015 and the programmes between the two institutions are being funded by the EU. The collaboration between PEU and MMU will provide a bigger impetus to the cooperation in higher education between Malaysia and Slovakia.
