MMU Students Invent the Revolutionary Lite Shower Designs

MMU Students Invent the Revolutionary Lite Shower Designs

MMU’s students of Melaka Campus have once again made the university proud.

In the Lite Shower Design Competition on 10 February 2017, the FOB and FET students competed to further improve the portable lite shower design for streets friends in terms of user friendliness and sustainability. The final improved portable shower units were then donated to selected NGOs in Malaysia through a non-governmental organization (NGO) known as Sebaran Budi to help the homeless, not only in Melaka but also in other states.

Lite Shower Activity

The project had played its role as a medium for students to be part of a change agent to help the society. The initial lite shower unit is a portable shower unit which was first invented by Mr. Bugs Tan to help the homeless people.

The event was co-organised by the Faculty of Business (FOB) and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), with the aims of advancing the students’ innovative skills and knowledge, as well as to prove that the quality of our engineering students are second to none.

This competition is also the multidisciplinary engineering design competition with the goals to promote an innovative culture in engineering design work, solve real world issues with practical engineering problem-solving skills, and churn out the brightest talents for product development, volunteerism, entrepreneurship, commercialisation and inclusivity. Under the guidance of Mr. Jee Kian Siong and Dr. Ng Poh Kiat of FET and Ms. Hani Suhaila Ramli of FOB, the charity competition prepared the students with the entrepreneurial, apprenticeship, relationship-marketing and start-up skills they require to succeed in the economy of the 21st century.
