On 14th October 2017, MMU’s Centre for Alumni (CFA) held the first ever international chapter meet and greet session for our international graduates. The session took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, and was attended by 100 of our alumni. The Jakarta session served as the last in this year’s series of meet and greet events organised by the Centre.
Between January and May, seven chapters held meets in Peninsular Malaysia, while August saw an additional two. One was held in Sarawak on 26th August, attended by 20 alumni, and another was held on 27th August in Sabah, attended by 30.
These sessions were intended to maintain the bonds between alumni and the university. Regardless of when they graduated, the alumni mingled and shared their contacts, knowledge and experiences while enjoying themselves. The Sabah and Sarawak meets were held over lunch, while the Jakarta session comprised a talk by Prof. Dr. Hishamuddin Ismail, Vice President (Academic & Internationalisation), followed by a nice picnic.
Overall, it was a successful year for the Centre, as it builds and solidifies the university’s relationship with its graduates. To the Centre for Alumni, good job on your hard work!
