FCA Student Won the Best Documentary in Global Youth Film Festival, United States

 

We would like to congratulate our FCA student, Eunice Alexander from MMU Johor for winning the Best Documentary for her short film “Vani: The Flower in The Void” at Real to Reel Global’s Third Annual Global Youth Film Festival on 7 October 2017 at The Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood, United States.

Eunice Alexander directed the documentary that tells a story of Vani, an introverted teenager who lives along 19 other children in an orphanage. At the age of seven, she was sent to the orphanage by her mother and then, grew up battling with much confusion and anger towards her family. However at the age of seventeen, she finally finds the courage to meet her mother and put an end to her confusion.

Real To Reel Global is a Los Angeles based non-profit organisation in its third year of proudly hosting its annual film competition honoring content addressing social issues impacting youth and produced by youth filmmakers globally. Vani also won the Best Editing for Documentary (Multimedia University, 2016) and Semi-Finalist in the Los Angeles CineFest, 2017.
