Express Pathway to Become Graduate Engineer

Express Pathway to Become Graduate Engineer

On 28 February 2017, MMU sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) to enable group registration of our undergraduates to be certified engineers.

With the agreement, our engineering graduates will have an easy and quick path for early registration through the use of the BEM e-Bulk system, which is accessible by MMU’s engineering faculties. On top of that, BEM will confer RM2,000 grant per year for five (5) consecutive years. This allocation is to be used for awarding graduates from both Faculty of Engineering Technology (in MMU Melaka Campus) and Faculty of Engineering (in MMU Cyberjaya Campus), for ‘Board of Engineers Award’ on the convocation day.

Other institutions that also inked the same MoU were Universiti Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Petronas and Taylor’s University.

At the MoU signing ceremony, MMU was represented by Prof. Ir. Dr. Hairul Azhar Abdul Rashid, the Director of Research Management Center while BEM was represented by its President, Dato’ Sri Ir. Roslan Md. Taha. Deputy Secretary-General (Management) Ministry of Works, Datuk Haji Sarani Dollah were also present at the ceremony. The collaboration would enable the ratio between registered engineers and residents to be reduced from 1:300 to 1:100 in Malaysia.
