KL Bar E-Moot Court Competition 2020 Results<\/span>\"\"<\/div>

The Kuala Lumpur Bar E-Moot Competition 2020 is a moot competition that comes under the auspices of the Organising Committee comprising of members of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee\u2019s Young Lawyers Committee. The competition was held online on the 28th and 29th November 2020 via Zoom.<\/span>Multimedia University was represented by five mooters under MMU SIG External Moot Club namely: 1. Jeyaganesh a\/l S Ravi 2. Si Yi Lee 3. Phiong Xin Yu 4. Chew Sin Yun 5. Ong Wei Ying The team was trained by our Law Faculty lecturers, Mr. Nor Hisham and Miss Syakirah as well as our alumni Chris Bong and Angel Goh. Team MMU managed to reach the Final Rounds. The Panel of Judges for the Grand Finals were YA Dato\u2019 Mary Lim Thiam Suan (Federal Court Judge), YA Dato\u2019 Abu Bakar bin Jais (Court of Appeal Judge), YA Datuk Ravinthran a\/l Paramaguru (Court of Appeal Judge), Delphine Varghese (George Varghese Law Firm) and Harleen Kaur (Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee). Our MMU Team has emerged as RUNNER UPS in the Kuala Lumpur Bar E-Moot Competition 2020. Congratulations to the team!<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/4″]
IDE4TE x UTLF 2020 hosted by UNITEN<\/span>\"\"<\/div>

Mawaddah Munirah Binti Zulfakar has won Bronze Award at IDE4TE x UTLF 2020 hosted by UNITEN on the 23rd - 24th of September 2020.<\/span>IDE4TE 2020 is the third and final, teaching and learning exhibition to showcase the innovation among the GLU faculty members as well other invited participants. This is one of the continuation projects of the network among the center of teaching and learning at each GLU, known as GLU-Ed.<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/4″]

MMU\/FOL Team won the 15th LawAsia International Moot Competition at the National Rounds via Virtual Moots<\/span>Not only were they declared Champions but our student won the Best Mooter Award as well. Appointment to National Advisory and Consultative Council for Older Persons<\/span>\"\"<\/div>

Dr Siti Zaharah has been appointed as a member of the National Advisory and Consultative Council for Older Persons (1\/3\/2019 \u2013 28\/2\/2021).<\/span>The council discusses the issues pertaining to older persons at the national level, including the policies and legislations.<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/4″]
Appointment to the project entitled \u2018Kajian Kandungan, Pendekatan dan Skop Bagi Pewujudan Satu Akta Khusus Untuk Warga Emas Di Malaysia\u2019<\/span>\"\"<\/div>

Dr Siti Zaharah has been appointed as a member and the head of legal content of a project entitled \u2018Kajian Kandungan, Pendekatan dan Skop Bagi Pewujudan Satu Akta Khusus Untuk Warga Emas Di Malaysia\u2019 (from September 2019 to May 2021).<\/span>This project aims to draft a specific bill for the older persons in Malaysia as part of her preparation to be an aged nation in 2030. Together with Dr Siti, Dr Olivia Tan is also a member of the project.<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/4″]
