The award is an initiative of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), which focuses on promoting a culture of excellence in Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). Through this award, which was launched in 2012, the academy aspired to identify outstanding Malaysian research scientists who possess mindsets in order to move the country forward to an innovation-led economy. For this year, the award honours 30 top outstanding scientists with excellent achievements in STI as well as have been nationally and internationally recognised. |
